What is the matt PPGI?

Matte color steel is a color-coated steel sheet with galvanized steel sheet as the base. The galvanized layer is usually 30 – 275 g/m2 and has excellent corrosion resistance. Special coatings are applied to the galvanized sheet through a continuous roller coating process. The matte treatment gives it a non-reflective smooth visual effect and anti-fingerprint. It is not only beautiful, but also has practical value. Different textures and colors can be customized according to needs.

Production Process of Matte Color-Coated Steel Coils

Matte PPGI is a pre-coated metal material featuring a specialized matte coating applied via continuous roll-coating onto high-quality galvanized (GI) or galvanized-aluminum (GL) substrates. It delivers a premium visual aesthetic, exceptional resistance to fingerprints and minor scratches, and a softer light environment. Its “matte” characteristics are achieved through two core technologies:

1. Chemical Matting: Incorporating micro-matting agents into the topcoat creates microscopic surface roughness, enabling diffuse light reflection.

2. Physical Embossing: Before coating curing, embossing rollers imprint ultra-fine textures (e.g., velvet grain, frosted finish) onto the surface, similarly reducing specular reflections.
