What is 1mm galvanized steel sheet?
1mm galvanized steel sheet is a thin, flat steel sheet that has a layer of zinc on the surface through a hot-dip galvanizing process. The zinc layer protects the underlying steel from rusting, allowing it to maintain good performance even in harsh environments, thereby extending its service life and reducing maintenance.

Conventional coating classification and weight
- Electrogalvanizing (EG): The coating is uniform and the surface is smooth, but the corrosion resistance is weaker than hot-dip galvanizing. Common coating weights are 10/10 g/m² (10g on one side, 20g on both sides), 20/20 g/m² (20g on one side, 40g on both sides).
- Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG): The coating is thicker and has strong corrosion resistance, but the surface is not as smooth as electrogalvanizing. Common coating weights are Z60, Z80, Z100, Z120, Z275, etc.
Application
Recommended coatings for different applications
- Z60 or lower: mildly corrosive environments, such as indoor dry environments.
- Z80-Z120: moderately corrosive environments, such as outdoor, humid environments.
- Z120 or above or galvalume sheet: severely corrosive environments, coastal areas, chemical industry areas.
- Choose a thinner coating or alloy coating (GA): subsequent processing is required, such as stamping and welding.

How is 1mm thick hot-dip GI sheet made?
1 Base steel selection: cold rolled steel sheet is rolled to 1mm thickness to ensure uniformity and facilitate subsequent processing.
2 Cleaning and pretreatment: degreasing → pickling → flux (removing impurities).
3 Hot dip galvanizing: multiple continuous immersions in molten zinc liquid for hot dip to obtain a uniform coating.
4 Cooling and finishing: air cooling → passivation (enhancing corrosion resistance).
5 Quality inspection: test coating thickness, adhesion, and surface smoothness.
