1). Wanzhi GI Plain sheets are available in thicknesses of 0.45mm to 2mm.

2). However, in the HVAC industry, 26 gauge 0.5mm, 24 gauge 0.6mm, 22 gauge 0.8mm, 20 gauge 1mm, 18 gauge 1.2mm, and 16 gauge 1.6mm GI sheets are most often used.

3). The sheet length is typically 8 feet whereas the sheet width is either 3 feet or 4 feet. The zinc coating of 80 GSM or 120 GSM is also provided.

GI plain sheet VS GI corrugated sheet?

The significant difference between the two is the difference in shape, and secondly the difference in size.

The galvanized iron sheet is the most common and widely used roofing material simply called G.I. sheet. GI sheet is either plain or corrugated.

1. Shape difference

A plain sheet is a flat steel sheet, and a corrugated sheet is a galvanized sheet with a corrugated shape. Plain sheets can meet some basic needs, such as steel tubes, metal boxes, steel drums, ventilation ducts, AHU, etc. Corrugated sheets can be further processed into Corrugated color roofs, and can also be used for tunnel roofs, temporary housing walls, etc.

2. Size Difference

The standard width of regular boards is 90 cm. Similarly, the standard width of corrugated boards is 80 cm. The thickness of the sheets is measured in gauges, ranging from 24 gauge to 30 gauge. The higher the number, the thinner the board is. For example, gauge 26 is thinner than gauge 24. What is the difference between GI sheet and AC sheet?

GI Sheet stands for the steel sheet coated with a layer of zinc, which is a silvery white metal sheet with high corrosion resistance, easy to process, and relatively light, convenient to transport.

While the AC sheets mean Asbestos Cement Sheets, which are heavier than galvanized sheets, not easy to process, do not have corrosion problems, and are more fire-resistant but there are chances of breaking during handling.
