What is the composition of Zam steel?

Its substrate is steel, so its composition is steel + coating composition. The following are the detailed parameters of the coating composition:

• Zinc (Zn): As the main component of the coating, it usually accounts for 90-96 % of the total coating and provides the main corrosion protection.
• Aluminum (Al): Generally accounts for 1-8%of the total coating, which helps to improve the adhesion of the coating and further enhance corrosion resistance.
• Magnesium (Mg): The content in the coating is usually 1-4%, which can significantly improve corrosion resistance in harsh environments.

What is ZAM-coated steel?

Its full name is Zinc Aluminum Magnesium Steel, which is zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy steel. According to the definition of European standard EN10346-2015, zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating is a ternary alloy coating with zinc as the main component and aluminum and magnesium content between 1.5-8% (magnesium content is not less than 0.2%). Therefore, it is an alloy-coated steel made of zinc (Zn), aluminum (Al), and magnesium (Mg) elements. This steel is widely used in many fields due to its excellent performance.

What is the difference between hot dip and ZAM?

The ZAM-coated steel has a low coefficient of friction and stable friction characteristics. It can be cut and used directly. Traditional hot dip galvanizing requires galvanizing, refinishing and surface treatment, which is a tedious process.
