SPCC steel is a cold-rolled carbon steel sheet or strip for general uses, which is named by Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS). It is equivalent to Chinese grades Q195, Q215A and German grade St12. The first letter “S” in SPCC is for steel, which represents the material. The second letter “P” is for plate. While the third letter “C” stands for cold rolling. And the last letter “C” means commercial quality. There are some similar grades, such as SPCD for drawing quality. If the third letter is “H”, that is SPHC, which means the base metal is hot rolled steel. Below are some similar codes.
SPCC —- Cold rolled steel sheet and strip of commercial quality;
SPHC —- Hot rolled steel sheet and strip of commercial quality;
SPCD — Cold rolled steel sheet and strip of drawing quality, which is equivalent to St13/14, DC03/04;
SPCE — Cold rolled steel sheet and strip of deep drawing quality. It similar codes are St15/16, DC05/06;
SPHD —- Hot rolled steel sheet and strip of drawing quality;
SGCC —- Hot dip galvanized cold rolled steel of commercial quality.
The common specification of SPCC cold rolled sheet is 0.5-3.0 mm*1,250 mm*2,440 mm; The max width and length can reach up to 2,000mm and 6,000 mm.
while the specification of SPCC cold-rolled strip and coil is 0.3-2.5 mm *355-1,500 mm.
As mentioned, SPCC is a cold rolled steel sheet and strip of commercial quality, which is defined in JIS G 3141 standard. Here are some worldwide steel equivalent grades for your reference.

SPCC steel is widely used in various applications due to its high strength, durability, and excellent surface finish. Here are some of its applications:
SPCC stands for “Steel Plate Cold Rolled Commercial,” and it refers to a grade of cold rolled steel. Its excellent formability, strength, and resistance to rust and corrosion make it a popular choice for a variety of applications. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
