South African Customer Purchases 112 Tons of PPGI Coils & Sheets

We recently successfully completed the delivery of 112 metric tons of ppgi coils and sheets to a South African customer. Based on their actual processing and application needs, this South African customer purchased ppgi sheets and coils in various thicknesses and specifications.

This collaboration is not our first transaction. The client previously tested our product quality through a trial order of one container. After confirming that the surface quality, coating performance, and processing characteristics met their requirements, they expanded their purchase volume to place this 112-metric-ton batch order.

Background of Client Requirements

The South African client primarily procures color-coated steel for local construction and metal fabrication sectors and has set high standards for the products:

• Consistent surface quality;
• Good coating adhesion;
• Good formability during processing;
• Consistent color and appearance across different product specifications.

During the initial trial order, the client focused on testing product quality and delivery capabilities. After verifying the products through actual use, the client recognized our supply capabilities and decided to establish a long-term partnership.

Order Details

Our color-coated steel coil production line first produces white and RAL9017 color-coated steel coils, which are then cut into sheets using cutting equipment. We have a complete production line for both color-coated coils and sheets.

Packaging

The customer explicitly requested export packaging in the order and set strict limits on the weight per package—no more than 2 metric tons per package, with 1.5 metric tons per package being optimal—while also explicitly expressing a desire to maintain the 1.8-metric-ton-per-package standard used during the initial trial order.

Our Solution

We strictly adhered to these requirements:

• Smaller-sized packaging: We divided the 112 metric tons of cargo into approximately 63 individual steel-strapped bundles, with each bundle weighing around 1.8 metric tons, to facilitate unloading and handling using forklifts or light lifting equipment at the local warehouse in South Africa.
• Paper cores + moisture-proof liners: Coiled products were supported by high-strength paper cores to prevent crushing and deformation during transport; The outer layer is wrapped in vapor-phase rust-proof paper and secured with galvanized steel straps, effectively resisting the high-humidity, salt-fog environment of ocean transport.

Conclusion

Through product validation, the client not only recognized the quality performance of Wanzhi Group’s color-coated steel coils and steel sheets but also established long-term trust in our partnership. Currently, both parties have formed a stable cooperative relationship, laying the foundation for future procurement of products in additional specifications.
