Hot-rolled strip steel & PPGI coil shipped to Bosnia and Herzegovina

Customer Background

The customer is an industrial real estate developer in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As an important emerging market in the Balkan Peninsula, Bosnia and Herzegovina has continued to grow in demand for construction and manufacturing in recent years. The customer needs high-strength hot-rolled strip steel (HRC) as a structural frame and weather-resistant color-coated gi coils (PPGI) as roof/wall materials. After multiple rounds of price comparisons and sample tests, the customer finally chose Wanzhi Steel as a supplier, valuing our full-process production capabilities, strict quality inspection standards, and competitive prices.

Order details:

Hot-rolled strip: Yield strength ≥ 355MPa, thickness 2.0mm-6.0mm, width 1500mm, S355JR 129 tons
Color-coated galvanized steel coil (PPGI): Thickness 0.5mm, width 1000mm, PVDF coating (RAL 3002), 219 tons
Challenge: Bosnia and Herzegovina has a rainy and snowy climate, and the material needs to adapt to the temperature difference of -20℃~40℃.

Project execution process

Production stage

• Hot-rolled strip: Use Q355B low alloy steel, controlled rolling, and controlled cooling (TMCP) process to ensure the balance of strength and toughness. Surface pickling to remove oxide scale, flatness error ≤0.1mm/m.
• Color-coated coil: The substrate uses DX51D+Z120 galvanized, double-coated and double-baked PVDF coating (≥25μm), and passed 2000 hours of salt spray test.

Quality inspection standards

Hot-rolled steel strip:

• Mechanical properties test (yield strength, tensile strength)
• Dimensional tolerance test (thickness, width)
• Surface finish (no cracks, scars)

Color-coated coil:

• Coating adhesion (cross-cut method ASTM D3359)
• Color difference test (ΔE≤1.5)
• Weathering test (QUV ultraviolet aging)

Packaging and transportation

• Hot-rolled steel strip: Steel coil anti-rust paper + iron sheet packaging, maximum weight of each coil is 10 tons.
• Color-coated gi coil: Inner layer of bubble film + outer layer of waterproof woven cloth to prevent moisture during sea transportation.
• Transportation method: Tianjin Port, China → Rijeka Port, Croatia → Land transportation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the whole journey takes about 35 days.
